We are just starting our look for a new machine. Looked at the new Barudan and Tajima today and was wondering on thoughts from everyone on these machines. Quirkiness, pros and cons of each machine would be helpful.
My 2 cents on equipment.
Both machines are great, Barudan a bit better on caps. Even on price very
similar.
Get the machine based on the service available in your area, look at your distributor for reputation and service quality.

We love our Tajimas. very little maintenance required in the 16 years we have owned them.

We love our Tajima.
Ours is 19 years old & we have had very little issues.
Very low maintainence.
Our service guy has been needed mostly for routinely maintaining equipment.
The isues we have had are:
Replacing battery in our monitor.
An issue with our hook knife but that was resolved. Not anything major.
I love working with ours.
It reminds me of the Maytag: Lonely Repairman. LOL

I sold my Toyota and went with a Melco Summit. Love it!

Have had two Barudan’s – one new, one used since 2002 – not a single issue with either of them – EVER. Serviced by Barudan tech yearly for clean, oil, and any tension adjustments if needed. Replaced one belt on the old (1999) used machine and that’s it. Runs like a top, does hats exceptional well. We have 100’s of hats that we did with 14,000 stitched, very dense and detailed design and they stitched without a flaw. So you can guess, which machine I would recommend :)
