2 days ago my Tajima (TFMX-C1501)started squeaking. Happens as soon as the needle engages. I cannot determine the source of the new tune - needle case, main shaft,... actually think it might be in the arms. I have oiled, anointed, cleaned and prayed to no avail. At this time of year more than any other, I cannot afford a belt to break or any down time on my machine. Any advice if you have a quick minute to reply would be much appreciated!
Does your machine have a bobbin winder on the back? If so, make sure the
lever isn't flipped over against the shaft. I had a similar thing going on
with my own machine earlier this year. I ripped the head off and had it in
100 pieces looking for that squeak

No, I don't have a bobbin winder but thank you for replying. I
have hope that it's not something major - it sews just fine. I just do
not have time for this, you know what I mean??

What hoop are you using. When I use my clamping system hoops I put a piece
of backing where the hoop is on the arm. Otherwise it squeaks. Hope the
answer is as easy as that.

That was my original hope.....unfortunately, it's squeaking with every
frame, clamp, etc. Haven't put my cap frame on to rule out the arms. I
think I'll try the backing as you suggest. Thank you so much for
taking time to reply!

Shari, if you have a belt I could be your belt needs some belt dressing
just like the belts on your car.

I would suggest that you try to take away some of the oil you just put on.
It might have too much in the wrong place. I'm anal about taking care of
my machine and put a little in the wrong place when i first got my Brother
years ago. My tech told me I took care of the machine too well. The other
could be is the belt. If you have a stethescope or a wine glass put your
ear to different parts it magnifies the sound and you might be able to get
closer to where the problem is.
