Ok, what do the rest of you do who have a hat press and press hats to NOT have the dent from the platen on the hats! I have tried to decrease my pressure till I am only at a pressure of 1! And still the crease! The hats do not look good with a big crease across the front! I am just not sure what to do. I have tried changing platen’s too…..smaller, bigger…don’t matter…. I have 6 hats with rhinestones to press and don’t want them to look like crap! Thank you for ANY tid bit of info!
We hold it very taut from the back of the cap and press the blank cap, then
put the design on and press again. By prepressing it we can tell if there
is going to be a crease problem and remedy it before we put the design on
it.

We haven't pressed hats in years, we embroider. We use a steamer to get
out any hoop marks but otherwise I can't tell
you any other ideas. Hope it helps.

I struggle with the crease also. I have found that putting a towel, pieces
of a t-shirt, a pressing pillow seems to help reduce the crease. I just did
one last night that I was worried about, but with part of a t-shirt padding
it, it came out fine.
